I PAY YOU TO TAKE CARE OF MY CHILD! IT’S HIS GOD-DAMN RIGHT!
I pay you just enough to take care of my child! It’s his right, why then do you tell me he is not doing well in classes despite the huge sum I pay in the name of fees!
Most parents feel that they pay just enough to have their children’s educational needs taken care of. They feel it’s not their duty to ensure that their children excel academically. This is absolutely wrong. In fact as parents, we have a major role to play than teachers. Why is this so? It’s semi-bad enough that children spend about 8-10 hours out of 24 with peers and teachers, I’m not saying its totally bad but this children know more about their teachers and classmates than parents.
Teachers can be likened to planters (of knowledge) and as parents, we are like waterers of this knowledge. This knowledge (little plant) can only grow into a tree and maybe a forest depending on how parents have watered it.
There should be time allocated for daily activities, this could be in form of a timetable which can be hung in the kitchen, the children door, their room, etc basically anywhere they would be able to view it clearly. This would help them understand that time should be spent wisely and not on mundane things. There should be chore time (this helps in building a sense of responsibility), homework time (this helps them understand the importance of education), siesta time (this helps understand the importance of rest to the human brain), play time, movie time, feeding time, etc. Feel free to design their timetable in a way that would help improve their cognitive behaviour.
We should always ensure we help out with their assignment because it makes them understand that you care and this permits them to make/take bold steps regarding their education.
Never get the notion that their education concerns their teachers only as this invariably could hurt them more than you could imagine. Also ensure you take part in activities related to their school e.g Open Day, PTA meetings, Cultural Day, etc.

Parents need to be informed of this misappropriation, therefore share they’re waiting to hear this
