Hundreds of thousands of people around the world have lost their lives and the death toll is still uncontrollable.
In the midst of this dangerous episodes, journalists have to brave up, step out and report all the breaking news. As coronavirus continues its spread and massacre across the world, we've also worked hard to ensure our free online courses on creative and accurate reporting on the pandemic are available to Africa.
As with any major breaking news story, a journalist’s first instinct is to get to the scene quickly. But now the act of informing the public on the threat of coronavirus carries with it huge risks.
Secondly, the challenge for journalists is ensuring their stories are based on truth, not opinions, and science, not speculation.
