UNLAWFUL ARREST IN MARINA RESORT, CALABAR.
On the 27th of March 2019 believing to be one of the most remarkable day in marina resort, as guests were patronizing the resort in the heartfelt city of Calabar, a SAGA of growing anger, and unlawfully human right violations like a tornados occurred, accompanied by the heavy present of some policemen that stormed the environment, the aggressive appearance and sudden attack carried out by the police was seem unlawful and embarrassing.
Our team was present to obtain every legitmate information of what happened in the resort, as he gather clues from the victims / witnesses where the incident took place within the avenue of the resort.
The arrest was orchestrated by the Managing Director of Tourism Bureau Mr. Clement Umina who frequently had carried out several arrests in the month of December 2018 Involving SARS and now the police said a witness.
From the recent publications of a media in Calabar, this has proved that false information is in circulation about those arrested in marina resort. As they failed to carry out proper investigation to interview the people, guests, the management and those living in the said building.

As result of the incident we are surprised that the said press or blog didn't come to interview us just as you guys came here to obtained the rightful information, this we call justice of true and professional journalism. On this sunny Wednesday day some policemen forcefully broke into our apartment an began arresting us for no reason, beating us like animals without allowing us to explain ourselves or identify who we are. We are seriously beaten, tied and dragged like robbers.
It is sad to know that the Nigerian police where deceived and dragged by Mr. Clement to be involved in other to tarnish the image of the police.
We expect a man who proved to be a managing Director to follow legitimate process by asking the company to bring out they reciepts we paid for or Show us the warrant of arrest issued by Government to evacuate us as illegal occupants.

SECOND INTERVIEW with STAFF / Accountant of Marina Resort.
MISS Blessing, the accountant was also arrested by the policemen and taken to the police station for interrogation. MISS Blessing explained that "no investigation was carried out or any warrant of arrest was shown to me . Some few policemen broke my door and force themselves into my apartment while I was having bath and dragged me out naked, After beating me up, First they alleged that I was a drug peddler and they search my entire apartment but couldn't find any drugs secondly they Said i am camping criminals lastly they said I am a fraud. I can not comprehend such statements hearing it from the police and Mr. Clement.
There are protocols in getting things done as an educated person. our administration is in place so why not follow the due process before humiliating everyone and the guest. The are supposed to investigate before carrying out any arrest on such environment that visitors are enjoying themselves"
She further said . "The company has an up-to-date report on every business transactions done in marina resort"
Some staffs allegedly confirmed that a huge sum of money was also paid to Mr. Clement this year. He illegally instituted some security men in the resort without the company notice. The worst, They said, Clement is owing us large sum of money as he frequently come to drink and eat with his friends and girl friends without paying a dime. How can marina grow when The top is corrupt, said a an eye witness who is unwilling to disclose his identity.
A witness among the people arrested stated that one James, an asthmatic patient was also beaten seriously resulting to the extent that his laptop was damaged, the police where scared on discovering that the said James is ill and almost gave up as an asthmatic patient, medication was quickly provided to redeem him back..

"Some of us are Tandem staffs living within the neighborhood and the resort to help checkmate insecurity and any other activities within the resort. Mr. Clement and his Police friends chased off all the guests coming into the resort making expose to danger as currently our security men are no longer in their various post as the had been displace while Mr. Clement thugs are roaming about the resort. Due to this incident we had lost huge amount of money without making any reasonable sales this few days. The total sum of 5,44,000 had been lost from just 4days. God help" she concluded.

We aren't illegal occupants here we paid for our rooms in the resort to Tandem Intergrated Service Ltd the company managing marina resort.
We are not jobless or hoodlums as described by the press or Mr. Clement umina. We are currently working for the Government. Precisely, His Excellency the Governor of Cross River State on the project Calasvegas which is opposite Marina Resort, staying in marina resort is to help us easy movement of materials and staffs to save time and to monitor our equipments that are on the sea, and it's environment. The government is aware including the Commissioner for Tourism Cross River state. Mr. Eric Anderson.
