Pre-Calabar Marathon 2019
Calabar Marathon is set to be Africa's biggest marathon event with the likes of several marathon features to give the event the world standard. The Pre Calabar marathon is said to start with test schedule to hold sometimes in June is to prepare athletes for the Major Marathon event come November 2019. With the Calabar Festival and Carnival Calabar both celebrating 13 years in 2017, Cross River has already proven that it can stage significant, world-class events with staying power. Calabar Marathon & Carnival Run™ was borne out of numerous requests, over many years, from some of the world’s best runners for Cross River to stage a more accessible long-distance race in Nigeria. With mountain running remaining a niche sport for only the most rugged competitors, a city-based marathon seemed the obvious answer.
