The incident took place around 5am at the Root of David Area Headquarters in Apiawe village, DeiDei, via Kubwa, one of the satellite towns of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The hoodlums were said to have made away with musical instruments and other valuables worth millions of naira belonging to the church before they set it on fire. THE ALMIGHTY NOTIFICATION

Image
It’s quite funny how often I check my notification bar to see whether someone have followed me or liked my write-up. Now I feel like it’s becoming an obsession and oh boy! It’s not one I’m ready to let go. I am envisaging that in the nearest future, I would be doing more of this. Whenever I receive a notification, I can’t help but smile because it means I matter and I begin having this feeling of being special. I do it on Facebook Pinterest, Twitter, Whatsapp, Gmail, Yahoo, Bebo, My Friends, MySpace, Skype, Blogger, WordPress and hell even on Medium. Sometimes I would wish there was an app that keeps me posted on every likes and comment I get so I don’t have to check up on it every millisecond. I virtually feel a constant need to be approved — My appearance, philosophical beliefs, emotions, ideologies, passion and opinions are crying and bleeding to be heard and acknowledged. I literally post pictures on Facebook and check every minute I can spare how much likes I’ve ma

THE TWO FACES OF TUFACE?

Image
Tuface Idibia posted a video on online mobile photo-sharing site Instagram late Saturday night explaining the reason for canceling the One Voice Nigeria protest scheduled for Monday, January 6, 2017. “After due consultations, it has become clear that the One Voice Nigeria protest scheduled to hold in Lagos and Abuja on Monday, 6th February is under serious threat of hijack by interests not aligned with our ideals. “The point I intend on making is not worth the life of any Nigerian. It is motivated by the need to demand a better deal for the ordinary Nigerian. “I therefore announce the cancellation of the planned protest … I appreciate the massive support and I am convinced our voices have been heard,” he said. 2Face who had called for the protests last month to demand solutions to Nigeria’s crises received backlash from government officials and later a warning by police who called for a halt of the protest in Lagos for security reasons. “Information reaching us revealed th

NIGERIAN AIRFORCE JET BOMBS REFUGEE CAMP IN BORNO STATE

Image
The admission by Nigeria that its air force accidentally targeted a camp for people who have been internally displaced represents a significant change in attitude by the forces fighting the terrorist insurgency known as Boko Haram. In what the Nigerian officials have described as a "regrettable operational mistake," fighter jets on Tuesday bombed the camp as part of an operation against Boko Haram in Rann in the northeastern Borno state. Mistakenly believing that a gathering of Boko Haram terrorists was in Borno, Nigerian Maj. Gen. Lucky Irabor says his forces "got the coordinates and I directed that the air (force) should go and address the problem." As it is now known, the jets hit innocent civilians who had been fleeing Boko Haram attacks, killing at least 70 -- including some members of Red Cross staff -- and injuring many more. The airstrike has once again raised questions about Nigeria's ability to defeat the terrorists. The conflict to

WANT TO BE

Everyone desires to be something Each desires embedded with wanting These wants may be good or bad Surely these makes up a lad Many are tempted to go the extra mile Some are willing to wait a while Some wonder to themselves What a sick faith! That one must wait Some ponder to themselves When will these all go away? I need to find a way! I once remember a child So meek, gentle and mild Who grew up with preposterous ideas and desires He wished that all properties, wealth and fame he could acquire But he never knew there was more to life than these Acquire them all he did, but numbered surely were his days Because even all the money and fame could not restore his health Many famous people who believe they have found a friend Will soon realize they are all fiends They will soon realize power and money is exotic And those faces in plastic Wanting a new look to their new achieved height Would soon be feeling hate Towards their cravings They’ll wish they had listen

A CRY FOR SUCCESS

When I gaze at the world Am amazed by what I see I wonder how the earth came to be I wonder how everything in it was spoken to life And then it came to be The day, evening and night How do they tell when to switch? Who tells the sun when to scorch us? Who tells the rain to wet us? Who tells the cold to wrinkle our skin? Who? Just who? I look at creatures At their different displays of emotions And I’m still unable to fathom Why everything and everyone seems different Even I wonder how I came to be Because I just grew up knowing that I existed And when I look at how many have failed In their duties to life I tell myself I do not want to be a failure Never to my generation and my procreation I tell myself I would make it I tell myself never to be a failure That I would work hard But there goes another fear! Work hard? Many have been working hard! Why then haven’t they made it? Most have nothing to show for being loyal and hardworking Most say hard work pays Some say it doesn’t I grew up

WHY DOES THE RICH GET RICHER AND THE POOR, POORER?

Image
Wonders they say shall not end. I think it's high time these politicians start behaving like Nigerians. They approve substandard projects and sit back like they have done a great deal for the country. The commonwealth of our country was evenly distributed and it was channelled towards the growth and development of the country; schools were built, hospitals, roads and the welfare of the Nigerian people were taken care of. But immediately greed, and the quest to make wealth through the back door set in, politicians lost patriotism for our nation. Bad leadership and poor governance has led to the failure of patriotism in our nation. Politicians use imported goods and send their children to the best schools abroad. The daughter of Oyo State Governor - Ajimobi (video above) is spraying money at a party in UK. Notice the way she was stoning the money with such narcissistic pride; children of politicians should be banned from schooling abroad with laundered money while the poor mas
